Britney Spears Arrested for DUI in California — as Fears Mount Troubled Pop Star Is Spiraling Again
Her Instagram account also vanished amid the chaos.
Britney Spears’ latest headline-making drama has landed her in handcuffs.
The troubled pop princess was arrested for DUI on the night of March 4 in Ventura County, California, according to law enforcement sources.
The Toxic hitmaker was reportedly pulled over by the California Highway Patrol and taken into custody around 9:30 p.m. before later being released from custody at 6:07 a.m. PT, according to jail records.
Spears is scheduled to appear in court on May 4, 2026 at 8:15 a.m.
In a curious twist, Spears appeared to wipe her Instagram shortly after the arrest, adding fresh fuel to concerns about the singer’s ongoing struggles.
The run-in with the law is just the latest chapter in Spears’ long history of public turmoil. Back in 2007, she was accused of a hit-and-run involving a parked car in Los Angeles – an incident that came during the chaotic period when she ultimately lost custody of her two sons with Kevin Federline.
Spears has not yet addressed the DUI arrest publicly.
The drama also comes amid growing worries about the singer’s finances after she sold her entire music catalog in a rumored $200 million deal.
“People around Britney are seriously alarmed because this isn’t just about one tax bill or a bad month,” an insider said. “Her money has been flying out the door for a long time, and it’s finally catching up with her.”
The source added the deal may have been a desperate move to stop the bleeding: “She sold the rights because she was in danger of going broke. It was a way to stop the bleeding before it was too late.”
Another insider claimed Spears has “pulled millions from pension and savings accounts, borrowed against the house, and piled up debts that still haven’t been settled.”
But despite the warnings, the pop icon reportedly isn’t worried – insisting she can still live like she’s “on top of the world.”
