Dick Van Dyke's Naughty Secrets, Britney's Injury Drama, Ben Stiller's Family Reveal & CBS' Major Shake-Up
Inside the juiciest scandals – from set shenanigans to serious charges.
Hollywood is having one of those weeks. Dick Van Dyke’s boy-next-door charm comes with a naughty footnote, Britney Spears raises eyebrows with a blink-and-you-missed-it birthday post, and Ben Stiller’s family opens up about deeply personal struggles long kept private.
Add a Jeopardy! champ landing in hot water, CBS News quietly reshuffling its stars, and familiar faces resurfacing in unexpected ways, and the shine slips just enough to keep things juicy.
Hollywood 411 by KEEPING TABS is watching it all unfold – let’s get into it.
JOKESTER DICK WAS A BAD BOY
COMIC icon DICK VAN DYKE often seemed like a harmless nerd with his silly grin, but KAREN DOTRICE who was 8 when she played little Jane Banks in 1964’s Mary Poppins, remembers the then-37-year-old comic as “a very naughty boy the minute the camera wasn’t on him.”
The rubber-faced funnyman, who played Bert the chimney sweep, had the cast and crew in stitches while filming the JULIE ANDREWS-starring flick. “He’d make you laugh so much,” Karen recalls. “And then the camera light went on, and you had to pull yourself together, which was really difficult.” Karen recalls the first time she met him, “He was bent over double, having a plaster cast made of his bottom. You can only imagine him sort of peeking around the corner, having a giggle.” While filming the tea party, “He was doing flips... and everybody was going nuts. And my chaperone was like, ‘Stop it, Karen, stop.’ I’m surprised we didn’t all die [of laughter].”
Now 70, Karen gushes over Dick, who turned 100 Dec. 13, saying he’s like her “second daddy... And you made me feel that way from Day One at Mary Poppins.”
JEOPARDY! WINNER BUSTED FOR PEEPING
Jeopardy! champ JOEY DeSENA scooped up nearly $45Gs on the hit quiz show in 2024, but now he’s in real jeopardy - charged with being an icky peeping Tom.
The 42-year-old Raleigh, N.C., development engineer is accused of being the creep who put two secret cameras in an unnamed victim’s bedroom and bathroom in October. He was busted Dec. 1, charged with two counts of felony secret peeping by “unlawfully, willfully and feloniously” installing “any device that can be used to create photographic image, namely a camera placed in the bathroom, with the intent to capture the image of another without their consent.”
In March 2025, former Jeopardy! player WINSTON NGUYEN reportedly got seven years in the slammer for posing online as a teen to get dirty videos and photos of kids.
CBS NEWS IS ALL SHOOK UP
CBS Mornings star TONY DOKOUPIL just got a huge career boost - he’s the new anchor of CBS Evening News.
Blabbermouths tattle the 44-year-old a.m. cohost with GAYLE KING and NATE BURLESON is a big favorite with the network’s news honchos – new editor-in-chief BARI WEISS and President TOM CIBROWSKI.
They’ve anointed the handsome hunk as solo evening anchor replacing the team of MAURICE DuBOIS and JOHN DICKERSON. Sources say bigwigs blame the duo anchors for the recent loss of 1 million viewers, claiming the pair lacked the chemistry that attracts watchers. Meanwhile, tattlers also predict King and Burleson’s time on the morning show is short because the network brass also plan to overhaul CBS Mornings.
BEN'S DAUGHTER BATTLED THE BLUES
The actress daughter of comedy great BEN STILLER and Brady Bunch Movie actress-wife CHRISTINE TAYLOR reveals she’s battled anxiety and depression all her life. But 23-year-old ELLA STILLER, who appeared in the Sex and the City spinoff, And Just Like That, and Happy Gilmore 2, doesn’t blame her famous parents.
Still, she struggled with “a lot of sadness and loneliness and a fear of the future.” Ella was plagued by fears of “what’s going to happen at any given moment? Am I going to die? That’s a horrible way to live, but that’s what I dealt with.”
The good news is: “I’m in an amazing place now,” she riffs. “Over the last five years, I’ve got [medication] and that’s changed my entire life.”
BRITNEY’S BIZARRE INJURY POST
Like her hit ditty Oops! ... I Did It Again, sexy songbird BRITNEY SPEARS got her fans and loved ones in a lather messaging that she’d injured herself jumping off a boat in Mexico while celebrating her 44th birthday on Dec. 2. The pop princess posted a video clip of her in a skimpy hot-pink bikini with the words: “Did a flip off the boat but I hurt myself.” However, she soon deleted the message and reposted the bikini video with the words: “I’m hungry. What’s cooking???”
Insiders say bizarre, erratic posts by the singer are unsettling. Her kin are upset because “she isn’t returning texts, won’t pick up calls and won’t even read DMs,” says a family insider. Another source says her antics are raising “a lot of red flags right now.”
NEW DEALS, FAREWELLS ... AND MORE!
Funnyman JIMMY KIMMEL not only survived getting booted off the air briefly for a wisecrack about the CHARLIE KIRK shooting, but ABC bigwigs have extended the popular 58-year-old late-night host’s contract for more than a year, to “at least May 2027.” Kimmel’s current contract was due to expire this May.
Former Family Matters star DARIUS McCRARY, 49, who played Eddie Winslow on the hit ‘90s sitcom, was released after several days in a Michigan slammer by pleading no contest to five felony charges linked to his 10-year-old daughter, Zoey. The actor, who at one point seemingly skipped the country to Mexico, reportedly owes $75,000 in support and will face sentencing in February. His lawyer says the agreement shows that “family does matter” and “allows Mr. McCrary to correct the misleading narrative and put this matter behind him.”
Fitness influencer ALESSANDRO ANTONICELLI, 26, died following a two-year battle with bone cancer. On his social media page, where he had 193,000 followers, his devastated family wrote: “Today the world is a bit emptier: Ale flew away, free from pain, finding the peace he deserved.”
Thrilled Mulholland Drive star JUSTIN THEROUX, 54, and 31-year-old actress wife NICOLE BLOOM are expecting their first child.
