Slender Man stabber Morgan Geyser’s great escape didn’t exactly… last long.
The 23-year-old fugitive cut off her monitoring bracelet and slipped out of her Madison group home Saturday night – and no one noticed for nearly 12 hours. She was found late Sunday at a Thornton’s truck stop in Posen, Illinois, where cops discovered Geyser and a friend sleeping on the sidewalk.
Madison PD confirmed her capture, saying, “There is no longer a need to search for Morgan Geyser at this time.” Geyser had been freed to the group home after seven years in a psychiatric hospital for the 2014 Slender Man stabbing – the gruesome attack where she and Anissa Weier stabbed Payton Leutner 19 times to “appease” the fictional character.
Leutner survived, and in 2018 both girls were found not guilty by reason of insanity.
