Royal “assassin” Andrew Lownie is back under fire.

The historian, whose latest book tore into former Prince Andrew, is now facing criticism after confirming plans for a new “warts and all” biography of Prince Philip – timed close to the fifth anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh’s death.

Critics say the timing smacks of exploiting royal grief for profit.

The backlash follows Lownie’s most recent release, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, which ruthlessly examined the disgraced life of Prince Andrew, 65 – now known as Andrew Windsor – and his former wife Sarah Ferguson, 66.

Now, the author has revealed he is already deep into research on a bio of Philip, who died in April 2021 aged 99.
