A visibly emotional Arizona county attorney broke down as she shared a message to the surviving children of Christopher Scholtes, the dad who left his toddler daughter, Parker, to die in a hot car before taking his own life.
“Instead of coming in to take account for what has occurred here, we have confirmed the father took his own life last night,” said Pima County Attorney Laura Conover.
Fighting tears, Conover spoke directly to Parker’s sisters: “May you be surrounded by love… may you know and believe that you can survive and thrive.”
Scholtes left little Parker trapped in his car for more than three hours while he cracked open beers, played video games, and watched porn. When Parker’s mother came home, she found her daughter unresponsive and rushed her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said Kneeland died by suicide following a late-night pursuit after a traffic violation. His car later crashed into the Dallas Parkway, and officers used K-9 units and drones to search for him. Dispatch audio captured heartbreaking details – Catalina reportedly told police Kneeland said he would “end it all” and was armed.
His agent, Jonathan Perzley, said he was “shattered,” adding, “Marshawn poured his heart into every snap, every practice, and every moment on the field.” Just days earlier, Kneeland had scored his first career touchdown.
