EXCLUSIVE: The Surprising Dealbreaker That Could Sink Jacob Elordi's James Bond Bid
Practical concerns behind the scenes may outweigh the buzz around his casting.
Jacob Elordi may be one of the bookmakers’ favorites to become the next James Bond – but behind the scenes, industry insiders say there is one looming issue that could derail his chances.
Elordi, 28, the Australian actor known for Euphoria, Saltburn, Frankenstein and the recent box-office hit Wuthering Heights, has reportedly been in discussions with director Denis Villeneuve – who is confirmed to helm the long-awaited Bond 26 project.
With long-time producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson having sold the franchise to Amazon MGM for a reported $1.25 billion last year, production on the next installment is finally now said to be gearing up for a late autumn start.
Following Daniel Craig’s departure as 007 after 2021’s No Time to Die, speculation over his successor has intensified… with Elordi in the running along with Callum Turner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Theo James.
