LESLEY WASN'T CRAZY FOR SWAYZE
PATRICK SWAYZE may have won the Civil War in the 1985 miniseries North and South, but he never won over his costar’s heart romantically, according to LESLEY-ANNE DOWN.
“We were very, very friendly and close,” says the now 72-year-old Lesley-Anne. “But ... as good-looking as he was - and he was - and as charismatic as he was - and he was - I didn’t fancy him.” Still, she did love the tragic actor, who died of cancer at 57 in 2009, as a friend. “We were very, very friendly and close,” she says.
CONAN CALMS THE CROP
CONAN O’BRIEN has come clean about his radically tamed new hairdo in a guest spot on The Tonight Show! The funnyman flattened his signature, towering pompadour over the summer and told host JIMMY FALLON it’s the result of his translucent Irish complexion!
“I got a sunburn on my scalp and then I went to a dermatologist because it really hurt,” he says. After receiving an oil for the burn, his slicked-down ‘do stunned his staffers, who told him he looked like a “pornographer.” Conan says, moments later, his publicist called him to announce the new look was already “everywhere,” leading him to quip, “I never knew anyone cared.”
AARON RODGERS SACKED BY EX!
Model MALLORY EDENS took to social media to stomp on former flame AARON RODGERS for flaming his exes in the media. The NFL star had referenced actress SHAILENE WOODLEY and former racing driver DANICA PATRICK in recent weeks and said he was emotionally unavailable while dating them because he had previously met the person that changed his life, his now-wife.
Unfortunately, those years also coincide with the time he spent with Mallory in 2023. “My ex is currently on a press tour talking about how he never loved anyone he dated after 2017,” she wrote. “Unfortunately for him, 1 am also on a press tour, for a movie inspired by how down bad I was.”
STAR SPILLS ON VIEW EXIT
Former daytime diva STAR JONES says she has no regrets about blindsiding BARBARA WALTERS with her surprise 2006 departure from the show. She revealed on The View: Behind the Table podcast with JOY BEHAR she knows she “pulled a fast one” on the late newslady but believes she did the right thing.
“I do what works for me,” she said after Joy recalled her announcing she was leaving on air two days before she had agreed to with the show’s deceased matriarch. “You might’ve given Barbara a heart attack that day,” Joy laughed. “Don’t say that, because we ended up both having open-heart surgery,” Star said. “That’s how connected BW and I were.”

Jersey Shore star NICOLE “SNOOKI” POLIZZI has happily announced she is healthy after undergoing treatment for stage 1 cervical cancer! “As of right now, l am cancer-free,” she says two months after undergoing a hysterectomy. “They got everything out. So I’m definitely happy that I did it. I feel like it’s just been week after week of doing a procedure, then another procedure, and then a hysterectomy. So it’s been a journey and a long road, but I’m happy that I’m on the other side of it and everything is going good.”
Reacher star ALAN RITCHSON reveals studio execs have asked him to tone down his public political statements. “You know how many phone calls I get from studios like, ‘Would you shut the [expletive] up, stop talking in public,’” says the hulking actor. “I mean, but it’s not chaos I’m after. It’s actually the opposite of chaos.” Alan also confessed that Amazon Prime Video put the kibosh on a white supremacist storyline for the show, claiming it was too political.
MELISSA MCCARTHY, who’s playing the mom of the titular strangled tot in the upcoming Netflix miniseries The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey, admits, “My heart says no one in the family could have done that ... that’s what my gut says.” JonBenét was only 6 when she was found dead in her parents’ home in Boulder, Colo., on Christmas night in 1996.
