READ IN FULL: The Court Filing at the Center of Tyler Robinson's Bid to Disqualify Prosecutors in the Charlie Kirk Murder Case
With the frantic text messages sent moments after Kirk was shot.
Tyler Robinson is trying to blow up the prosecution before the trial even begins.
The accused killer of Charlie Kirk has asked a judge to disqualify the entire Utah County Attorney’s Office, claiming a conflict of interest because the adult child of a prosecutor attended the Turning Point USA event where Kirk was shot. His lawyers argue the emotional connection could improperly influence the case.
Prosecutors are pushing back hard, saying the teen was neither a witness nor a victim and that frantic text messages sent after the shooting – including “SOMEONE GOT SHOT” and “I’m okay, everyone is going inside” – show confusion, not involvement. They insist there is no conflict and are urging the judge to deny the motion outright.
