Kanye West is facing a civil lawsuit over an alleged violent confrontation at the Chateau Marmont – with court filings claiming the rapper carried out an unprovoked assault that left a man unconscious on a Los Angeles hotel floor.

The complaint, filed this week in Los Angeles Superior Court, accuses West – now known as Ye – of approaching the man’s table without warning before striking him and continuing the attack as he lay on the ground.

What is now being laid out in legal filings is a version of events that sharply contradicts the explanation previously offered by the rapper and his representatives.
