Donald Trump’s bitter Kennedy Center war has taken another explosive turn, with lawyers accusing officials of using a “stacked deck” to push through a two-year shutdown of the iconic venue while allegedly keeping board members in the dark.
The allegations come as the Center is already engulfed in a separate battle over plans to put Trump’s name back on the building – and fears its previous installation may have damaged the historic marble façade.
Officials acknowledged scaffolding used to remove Trump’s name remains in place amid “reported panel damage,” although the government filing does not say Trump’s name caused the damage.
But a 26-page federal court filing obtained by THE VAULT reveals the fight goes much deeper, with Rep. Joyce Beatty’s legal team now taking aim at how the Kennedy Center Board reached its latest decision to shut the main building for two years.
